Personality photos

We thought these were some photos that really show off Isaac's personality.

HAPPY!

HANGING OUT!

He is vegging out on the couch.

PLAYFUL!

You notice that his head is behind the crib bumper. He had been playing in his crib. He'd removed his socks and thrown the blankets all over the crib. He was supposed to be sleeping.

Merry Christmas!

HO HO HO!

Like my Christmas PJs???
They are from my Grandma Richins!

I am also looking pretty spiffy in my 1st Christmas bib!

Not to mention my 1st Christmas Outfit

I also played with my cousin Gavin Shoemaker! (He isn't too much fun yet.)

I even got to see Santa Claus (don't tell Grandpa, but that's a pretty lousy disguise. I hope Santa doesn't find out Grandpa pretended to be him!)

Isaac's First Hospital Stay

Well, after about ten days of being sick the pediatrician decided that Isaac's digestive system needed to be reset. They put him in the hospital on Friday afternoon and wouldn't let him eat or drink anything for about 12 hours. (have you ever told a five-month old that he couldn't eat). It was not a fun time for any of us. But, they did give him IV hydration (the after band-aid on his hand). It worked. Around 11 p.m. they let us start giving him sips of pedialyte. He kept it down and the diarrhea ended. We went home about 11 a.m. on Saturday. If we'd have been more prepared (yeah right) we'd have remembered to bring the camera and gotten a shot of him in his hospital gown (which was too small) with all of his IV stuff.

Isaac's First Vacation

Well we finally got Isaac out to see Grandma Great. It was to be a vacation from ****. The week started out with a bang. On Isaac's first plane ride, he ended up having diarrhea and throwing up all over Grandma Greenway and his mother. . .twice. We thought he was just a little airsick until it continued and continued and continued for 10 days! That means it lasted the entire time we were in Utah (with 1 trip to ther emergency room for dehydration) and then for three days after that (the ending is another story). While we were there Great had to go to the hospital also because she was under the weather. We needed a picture of her and Isaac together, so off to the hospital we went (little did we know that we'd be in a hospital ourselves in just a few short days).

Another First!

Well the little one has developed a new talent. He has been rolling from his front to his back since Halloween. But the other day, during church I might add, he surprised himself by rolling from his back to his front. The other day when I went to check on him this is how I found him. Poor guy couldn't roll one way because of the table leg and couldn't roll the other because of the blanket. He had originally been positioned with his head at the top of the blanket. He had rotated himself 90 degrees and then flipped himself. I did save him, but not until AFTER I took some picture. I am the meanest mommy!

Isaac at 3 months

Now that Isaac is three months old (I know, where does the time go?) We decided that it was time to get some official pictures of him. I took him to Picture Place and they took some great pictures of him. They are below. Enjoy!!!

Ain't He Just the Cutest?

Isaac is now sleeping full time in his crib and doing very well. The first night was the worst. He slept in 2 hour spurts. From then on, the worst has been him sleeping from 10 until 4 and then until 7:30. Many nights he sleeps from 10 until between 6:30 to 8:00. When we get up, we check on him and most of the time he is still sleeping. But, the other morning this is how we found him. He just looked at us like, I'm done and bored, get me out of this situation. We couldn't not take a picture.

He is also weighing in at 12+ pounds. He is 23.5 inches long. Both of those measurements put him in the 50th percentile. His head, on the other hand, is now in the 95th percentile. The pediatrician won't believe that big, heart shaped heads (ahem Matt and Joel)run in the family. The Dr. keeps insisting that we should get a Cat scan to make sure that he is alright. We will see how this drama turns out.

Fun with Grandma

This week we have had the Richins Grandparents staying with us. It has been a ton of fun. Isaac has been getting spoiled from all sides.
He is getting better about sleeping in the crib. Unless we are out and about, during the day he sleeps in the crib and sleeps for about an hour. Sometimes after we "plug him back in" (replace the pacifier) he goes back to sleep for another hour or so.

Another First!

I couldn't resist putting this photo up. I caught Isaac in mid-rollover so I let him finish. I then went and got the camera and like a mean mommy, put him on his belly again. He didn't seem to thrilled with being on his belly, so he rolled over. This time though, I caught it!

Mr Bubbly

He is getting so big! He has been smiling at us for a while now, but until this photo, I'd never got him on camera! He actually is the gigglingest baby. He thinks everything is funny from sneezes to some diaper changes. Go figure!

Destruction mode. . . again!

Well, the Richins are in destructive mode again. We decided that we were tired of the basement the way it was. So, the walls got a fresh coat of paint, the window was uncovered and washed, the carpet is getting pulled up, we've got some remnants to cover the cement, and we are putting some furniture in. By the time it's done we won't even recognize it as our basement!

Hmmmm

They say that all babies do is poop, eat and sleep. I wonder who Isaac takes after? Just kidding!
Actually, you can tell that Isaac is very comfortable with his dad. This is how they like to snuggle and it doesn't take much time for him to fall asleep. Isaac and mom snuggle, but mom likes to (and remembers to) take more pictures.

More Isaac (of course)

In the week following his birth, Isaac dropped too many ounces and was a very fussy and gassy baby. So, after some frustrating nights, he was switched to formula and he LOVES it. He is now drinking 3-4 ounces at each feeding and even tolerating rice ceral in his formula for the night. (It keeps him sleeping for 4-5 hours which Mom LOVES) He's now about 9 pounds and 22 inches long.
I think, in this picture, he's REALLY enjoyed his dinner. I think if he had a belt he'd have loosened it!

Hello Everyone

Here is our first formal picture of Isaac. He is wearing the smallest outfit I had for him and it is huge! The eyes closed, mouth open pose is very typical Isaac. When he gets totally relaxed, this is how he is.

Here he is exactly two months later. Same outfit! This time it is almost too small for him. Note: the mouth is still open. This time though, he is telling me to get a move on it!

Just in case you mistakenly thought he was never sad.
