Isaac and Sadie

We were worried that when Sadie joined our family that Isaac was going to feel left out or neglected. We found out that this 3 1/2 year old boy didn't really care that there was a new member of the family. She didn't get into his toys, eat his food, or play his computer. In fact, this new little member of the family actually made it so that he got MORE TV time, MORE computer time and LESS of Mom keeping track of him. He was totally ambivalent of her for the first little while.

That all changed one day in Wal-mart of all places. He was in the basket of the cart and she was in her car seat. He reached up and began to pet her head. He looked at me and said "Mom, I love Baby Sadie". After that, he was willing to hold her and love her and kiss her. He gets concerned when she is sad and he loves to pet her head.

I think he is going to be a great, protective Big Brother!

Snow 2010!!!

To say we got a little snow (for Pennsylvania anyways) is an understatement. The forecast called for 12-18 inches. I am guessing that we got about 20-24.

Isaac decided this year that he loves snow. That has been a good thing because this year we are finally getting snow. The first snow, he had to be coerced to get his hat, boots and mittens on. Once he realized that they did keep him warm and dry, he asks for them before he goes out.

He has a great time stomping through the snow, although this storm made it a little hard considering it went up to his waist! He also enjoys making and throwing snowballs and eating the snow. We made sure to tell him to only eat the fresh white snow!

He also likes to help Dad shovel (or shogel as Isaac says it) the snow. We got him his own little shovel and he does help. It is also his job to carefully use the broom to get the snow off Daddys car. (Moms is safely tucked away in the garage)
