On one of the blogs I read, Amy's Creative Side they have a huge quilt festival called The Bloggers Quilt Festival where people submit pictures of quilts they have made, why they are proud of them and a story behind the quilt. I am able to participate this year because I HAVE A QUILT!! (several actually, but this is the one that I am the most proud of)When my son Isaac was born his aunt and his grandma both made him a quilt. The quilt from his aunt has become his "B" and to say he loves it is an understatement. When I was pregnant with my daughter, I wanted her to have a special blanked also. Originally, I picked out the fabric so that her grandma could make her the quilt, but I'd started to quilt right after my daughter was born and I decided that I wanted to be the one to make her "B". I practiced by making other quilt tops and made my mistakes on those. Once I got "the hang" of quilting, I picked out her pattern and got started. It turned out so beautiful with the bright pink, bright purple and green. The picture does not do it justice. Once the quilt top was done, I was going to send it to be quilted and bound. But, the opportunity came up to quilt it myself and so I was able to use a longarm machine, quilt it and then finish it. It was the first quilt that I did from start to finish. I did it all by myself and it is for my daughter. It not only is special to me, but she sleeps with it in her crib every night!

Cool! I love it!
This is a great quilt! I love the color combination.
That's so cool. You have taken quilting by storm. I'm so impressed. I went to the quilt festival blog and spent WAY too much time pouring over all those amazing quilts. WHOA! I think I'm obsessed with quilting which is crazy since I don't even quilt really. I think you and Lynn need to remedy that one of these days. I promise I would be an obedient student.
My grandchildren both have quilts that I made them. One sleeps with hers. The other kicks hers off quickly. The pattern, the colors and quilting make this beuatiful quilt more special.
Beautiful colors and a wonderful gift for your daughter. I love that you learned to quilt to make this, too. (And I love your dairy warning sign...I too wish more people could see those!)
