Quilts and more. . .

One of the blogs that I love to read is called Green Fairy Quilts. She designs some beautiful quilts, but her longarm work (that is fancy machine quilting) is AMAZING!! On top of it all, she and her husband do some major charity work in Romania! They pay for it themselves, but are always open to donations. Click on the title of her blog to go and see it. Click on the picture if you'd like to help them out!

I also (finally) finished another quilt. I decided that I was going to try and do it all at home. That meant that I didn't go and quilt it on a special machine. I did it all myself. It turned out OK. I definitely need some practice.

My Latest Projects

BWS tips button

While reading a friend of mine's blog, I came across this quilt along that is a skill building quilt along. I decided that it would probably make a fun quilt when all was said and done. So I decided to "quilt along". Here are the first three blocks.

After I made the first block, I decided that I really didn't like it
But, I really liked the one my friend made.

So, I kinda used her idea (thanks Becky). I love how the purple spirals out.

I really liked how the next two blocks turned out.

I also have three more quilt tops done. I found a book that I just love. It is called Simplify by Camille Roskelley. One of the patterns calls for 4 fat quarters and some border fabric. It was simple (hence the name) and it turned out beautiful.

In fact it turned out so well that my mom had me make her one!

The next one is a pattern that I got from a website called Moda Bakeshop.. It is called Snuggly Squares Baby Quilt. .

These are just the quilt tops, not the finished products. I will get them posted as soon as I get them done.
